Application Settings

Where your organization's settings live, what each tab controls, and which changes are yours to make.

Two levels of settings

UpSmith settings fall into two layers:

  • Organization-level — settings that apply across your whole account, managed by an admin on your team.

  • Customer-level — settings that apply to an individual customer record, layered on top of your organization defaults. Suppressing one customer from an agent's outreach is a customer-level setting.

Finding your settings

Open Settings from the main navigation. Everything on this page applies to your whole organization.

The top of the page holds your organization's identity — your logo, name, and alias. Below that are four tabs: Members, Leads Settings, Service Area, and Do Not Contact.

Only admins can change these settings. If the fields look read-only, you're a Member — ask an admin on your team, or email UpSmith support at support@upsmith.com.

Organization name and alias

Organization name is your primary business name. It's how UpSmith identifies your account across the platform and in reporting.

Alias is the name your agents actually use when they talk to your customers. Leave it blank and they'll use the organization name instead. Set an alias when:

  • you operate under more than one brand

  • your legal business name isn't the one customers recognize

  • you want a shorter, more natural name inside a text message

Select Clear to remove the alias and fall back to the organization name.

Use the upload and delete icons beneath your logo to replace or remove it.

Members

The Members tab is your team roster — everyone at your company with access to UpSmith.

Each row shows a teammate's name, email, phone number, and organization role. Select the pencil beside a name to edit it, or Add Phone Number to attach a number to their profile. Use the search box to find someone by name, and Previous / Next to page through a long roster.

Two roles are available in the Organization Role dropdown

  • Member — day-to-day access to the platform.

  • Admin — everything a Member can do, plus managing settings and other users.

To add someone, select Invite Member in the top-right corner, enter their email, and choose a role. They'll get an invite to set up their own access.

For the full walkthrough on adding, removing, and re-permissioning teammates, see User Management.

Leads Settings

The Leads Settings tab controls how new leads are handled as they sync into UpSmith

Current leads created agent shows which agent is handling new leads today.

New agent assignment lets you hand new leads to a different agent. Only agents that are currently active appear in the dropdown.

Phone-call lead engagement decides when a Google Local Services Ads (LSA) phone call turns into an SMS engagement. Three options:

  • Text on all phone-call leads — the default. Every LSA phone call we ingest starts a text conversation.

  • Text only on missed calls — a defensive setting that skips the text when Google reports the call as connected. This is the right choice when your office answers LSA calls live and doesn't update the LSA dashboard, because it stops customers you've already spoken with from getting a redundant text.

  • Don't text on phone-call leads — phone-call leads still come into UpSmith as usual, but never trigger a text.

Select Save Leads Settings when you're done. For more on how these leads reach UpSmith in the first place, see Google LSA.

Service Area

The Service Area tab defines the geography that determines whether a customer's ZIP code is inside your organization's service area — the footprint your agents work against.

Coverage source

Choose one of two sources:

  • All active ServiceTitan zones — uses the combined ZIP coverage from every active zone in ServiceTitan. This stays in step with ServiceTitan automatically, so adding a zone there widens your UpSmith coverage too.

  • Selected UpSmith regions — uses only the regions you select, ignoring your ServiceTitan zones.

UpSmith regions

Regions are reusable geographic groups shared across your service area, routing, and capacity settings

You need at least one region before selected-region coverage will do anything. If no regions are defined yet, leave the coverage source on ServiceTitan zones.

Coverage comparison

This panel shows the ZIP count for each source side by side — your selected regions versus all active ServiceTitan zones — so you can see exactly what you'd gain or lose before you switch.

Test a ZIP code

Enter a ZIP and select Test ZIP to see whether it falls inside your service area. This checks the currently saved policy, so save your changes first if you want to test them.

Select Save service area to apply your changes.

Do Not Contact

The Do Not Contact tab is your organization-wide suppression list: contacts your agents will never reach out to, regardless of any campaign, trigger, or agent setting. Anyone on this list is excluded everywhere.

For how suppression interacts with campaign targeting, see Targeting & Suppression.

Change a setting yourself, or ask UpSmith?

Some preferences are yours to set directly — everything on this page qualifies. Others, like changing an agent's script, adding a new workflow, or adjusting how decisions are made, are handled by your UpSmith team.

If you're not sure which a given change is, see Configuration & Workflows, or ask your UpSmith team and they'll point you to the right place.
