Holidays — Keeping Closed Days Off the Schedule

If you're closed on Thanksgiving, your agents shouldn't be offering Thanksgiving. The Holidays page is where you set that once. Every year after, the agents follow it.

You'll find it under Settings → Scheduling & booking → Holidays. The page is for Admins.

Setting it up

The page lists the eleven US federal holidays. For each one:

  • Off the schedule: check it and that holiday isn't offered for booking.

  • Days before / Days after: close the days around it too. For example, 1 day before Christmas Day covers Christmas Eve, and 1 day after Thanksgiving Day covers Black Friday.

Changes save as you click. You'll see "Saving…" in the card header. There's no Save button to forget.

The Next 12 months panel beside the table lists every date you've kept off the schedule, so you can check the real dates without a calendar. When a holiday falls on a weekend and is observed on the Friday or Monday, the observed day is included.

Prefer to just say it? Jenny is docked on the page. Try "We're closed the day after Thanksgiving" or "Which days are off the schedule this year?" She'll show you the dates it affects and wait for your approval before saving.

What it does

  • Agents won't offer or book those days. A customer who asks for one is told you're closed and offered another day.

  • It repeats every year. You set it once, not once per holiday.

  • It applies from now on. Appointments already booked on a day you just closed stay where they are. Move them in ServiceTitan if you need to.

  • Your own team isn't limited. Dispatch can still put work on a holiday in ServiceTitan.

What it doesn't do

  • It doesn't stop outbound texts. This setting controls booking, not outreach. Campaigns still send on a holiday unless they're paused. If you want your agents silent on a holiday, email us ahead of time and we'll pause outreach for the day. Customers who reply to a conversation that's already going will still get an answer. Holiday send-blackouts you can set yourself are on our list.

  • It only covers federal holidays. For a day that isn't on the list, like Good Friday or a company event, use a date window in Capacity Autopilot. See Closing Days and Hours Your Agents Shouldn't Book.

Common questions

I've never touched this page. Are holidays blocked? Not unless someone set them up for you. Open the page and check the boxes. It takes a minute.

Can I close more than a week around a holiday? The pickers go up to 7 days either side. Need more? Ask Jenny or email us.

Something got booked on a holiday I closed. Check the Next 12 months panel first to make sure the date is listed. If it is, send us the customer name and appointment at support@upsmith.com. Also check whether your team booked it. Holidays only stop agents.
